Oops, now I remember this particular game was me finishing a game against the computer after an opponent die resign when I was up way material, true, the computer doesn't resign, but I could have done this exercise against one of the hundreds of other blitz opponents who made me play to checkmate with queen against king, yes, hundreds, because in my 3000 blitz games the 1500 that I won did include 100's of those queen against king checkmates. My point is that the fact that I can easily blow a game when I am up a rook or more in the middle game does not mean I can't figure out how to checkmate someone who has no pieces or pawns left.

Wondering why half my 700 rated blitz opponents won't resign when it's my queen against two pawns endgame, are they thinking I will stalemate, what do they gain by making me checkmate them? I may stalemate with too much material on the board, but I know how to mate with just a queen. So after eliminating all pawns I tried to pre-move to color all the squares red (I took this screenshot while still in progress because tge "you win" screen of course would erase my picture), and almost made it until I did hit stalemate, obviously three queens was counterproductive, but I wanted to have at least one extra queen in case I blundered the first one in a pre-move.
