I didn't "slip away". I departed when the topic was discarded.
Is atheism a religion?
I'm not sneering. You haven't been very convincing expressing your side of the story at all. It would be great to hear something besides just your belief in...actually I don't know what you believe in since you say your god is a bunch of feelings you have but it's not the Abrahamic god?
LOL...that is precisely it, trysts! unlike you I haven't been trying "to convince you of anything", except to reveal to you one fact concerning my person - that I believe in God.
And from there, you took the ball and ran with your atheistic mantras of sneer and jeer, so much so that I couldn't get a word in edgewise...
And you continue!! ROFLMAO "you say your god is a bunch of feelings"
That's what you said! You described god as some feelings you have, but it's not a religious god. And I'm not trying to convince you to believe in some bizarre 'atheist religion'. That doesn't make sense to me.
roflmao...trysts! seriously, you crack me up!
But I've been serious? I don't understand?
there's no diatribe here.
I'm just pointing out atheists are as obnoxious as the ultra religious who try to convert others.
You do realize that alex-rodriguez said he doesn't like the brain-washing of children. How is that obnoxious? Other athiests say they actually don't doubt that people believe in these religions and they see the religious people killing each other for their gods, and that's why they are so outspoken. To me those seem like compassionate reasons to be outspoken.
Well, maybe atheists should just have their own children and not try to butt in on how other people raise their kids.
By the way, at first I thought people were just committing typos, so I didn't say anything.
But it is consistently - written and rewritten - so I will have to say something, seeing as people so proudly proclaim it.
It's ATHEIST folks. NOT ATHIEST.

I was raised catholic, and it took me years to shake away the brainwashing. But I guess you're fine with that...

You have no idea, how hilarious this all is to me. I can't stop laughing.
Seriously, you're not a person with whom one can share anything with if it doesn't fit into your "reality". You're too busy tearing down everything and anything the other person has to say.
And all that happens is that it turns into this wild lunatic circus that we have been riding on....
Let's just stick to movie reviews and critizing American foreign policy - the 2 things you agree on.
there's no diatribe here.

I'm sorry about that. Bobyyyy was another fella who was really abused by it...he's much older than you (in his 60s I believe) and he still suffers from it. But I don't think crusading to eradicate the world of religion is going to solve the problems of child abuse by religious fanatics.
You actually haven't said anything but that you can't stand when atheists try to convert religious people to atheism, because you say they're "obnoxious". While I criticize the belief in invisible gods, you condescend to me as if I were some lower class citizen that doesn't deserve a proper response. Fine.

Actually, I was trying to answer your questions in earnest in the beginning, but I don't think you were interested in the answers, you were already too keen at ridiculing the "invisible God" that I said I believed in. No, I did not condescend to you. And I don't rank people into lower or higher classes by the way. My best friends are either unemployed or manual laborers....and I'm a bum. So you needn't think that of me.
Well you have a bunch of comments just laughing at everything I said, so I know I never interrupted your laughter if that's what you mean when you say that you were "trying to answer"?
We've been talking for a couple of days now, trysts.
I've only been laughing these last few posts. I can't help it.
You're very funny, you know that?
I don't mean it in as insulting way.

I hope I'm funny intentionally. But I honestly don't know what I wrote that was so funny? But okay:)
In a word, yes….I do believe “Atheism” can be described as a religion after all it is the absolute belief that a deity does not exist. No atheist can say definitely that a God does not exist ( no matter how they try to rationalize out their point of view) anymore that any religion observer can definitely say that a God does. It is a matter of belief.
There can be no possible advantage to believing in things that couldn't possibly be true.
Certainly when we're not in such a horrible situation that only having a belief in something gets us by. If a slave makes up a god, or believes stories of saviour gods that's understandable. But all the churches where I live the parking lots are full of SUVs, and the atomic family going to Sunday mass. Tradition? Is tradition so comforting when it's based on ancient myths? It's quite baffling.
