Regret American politics is impenetrable from this side of the pond. A Lottery Grant would be the way to go here. Beer for me.

I wonder if congressional gridlock might scuttle our effort to get a National Science Foundation grant for this important work?

Sould we ask for beer or hard liquor?

Easy question! -- "both!"  We'll just have Three experimental groups: one for blitz chess, one for beer, and one for hard liquor.  The control group will just watch a 5 hour film of the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.  No, wait.  That would be a Fourth experimental group ... so now I have a new hypothesis:  subjects in Group Four will experience the most brain rot.

That wouldn't give me brain rot because I would be quite happy watching Pippa Middleton.

Feelings of alienation and generally being overwhelmed can occur.

That has to be the worlds smallest bird, like 1/4" tall.

Great song!!  I remember those little 45's -- they were all we had to listen to when we were kids, but we liked 'em. Our parents all had big hi-fi's and we just had these teeny-tiny record players -- but we Liked 'em!  And all of our itsy-bitsy records had "B" sides that were never as good as the "A" sides, but -- well, I didn't really like that part.  So I stopped buying tiny records and started playing chess, because I thought chess would be good for my brain, but now I wonder if my chess games really Are good for my brain or do I play 'em just because I Like 'em?  (See how I brought that back around to the topic?  I like it when I do that.Cool)

Ellipses?

Avatar of motherinlaw

I forgot what ellipses were .... so I looked them up ..... turns out they're "a set of dots indicating the omission of a word or words that are superfluous or able to be understood from contextual clues"....... so what's an ellipsis? .....

Avatar of TheGrobe

Just one such set....
