Yup true friend both have pros and cons but games have more disadvantages right?
i mean this is hard to say. "video games" is a very broad topic, maybe if we specify it to minecraft we can get somewhere.
First, lets look at the biggest argument in favour of chess, that chess is better for your mind. I wont pretend that im a psychology expert or anything, but i do believe that minecraft can also have tome good impacts mentally.
While the focus of chess is on strategy and tactics, the focus of minecraft is creativity. both of these are very important, so i dont think we can say that any single one is better.
Lets look at something which you said about video games: they ruin your eyes. Personally, i feel like this problem isnt unique to video games. just browsing, playing online chess, reading news, etc. can also cause the same problem.

Looks like you are on a clarity. Very good for that. I agree that Minecraft shows creativity. But pls don't forget this that chess also shows creative/strategical thinking. So I guess I can say that chess is better
i feel like you're being very closed-minded about this. the points we're talking about cant really be quantified like that.
