Lucid dreaming.

Lucid dreaming is basically being aware that you're dreaming inside of a dream. You can then control the world and do anything you want. Literally! And it's really realistic (it's confusable with real life). Ever wanted to fly? You can do it in a lucid dream. Ever wanted to talk with a celebrity? Lucid dream. And what's cool is that you can also use the time to learn a new skill or something while asleep which is cool! I'm trying to get these dreams but not really succeeding yet. I've had one short one where I got attacked by weird creatures and then I woke up lmao.

Well if you dream about lucid dreaming wouldn't you think you're in a dream and then get lucid in that dream?

Sad

I'd even wake myself up in the middle of the night regularly if I would actually get lucid. (Using the wild technique or something)

But nothing seems to work.

FR I WOKE MYSELF UP EVERY TIME I START TO GET ONE

But it's good that you are lucid sometimes.

But yeah it's always like: Woow I got a lucid dream! *wakes up*

Have you ever had a lucid nightmare?

I’ve never experienced this, but I’ve also never tried. I think Will made a cool thread about this.

I recently was obsessed with this, and by recently I mean like 3 months ish ago. I got pretty decent at it too, I currently have about 75 recorded LDs to my name and probably many more I forgot.

I stopped because it’s exhausting, on your body and your mind. It’s a constant struggle to try to keep yourself aware of your surroundings while awake so the habit carries over when you dream. Basically, it’s a daydreamers worst nightmare. The experience is great, but eventually, the novelty wears off with how hard on your health it is. I recommend practising it very casually if at all. No waking up to try to regain awareness during your rem cycle, just dream journal in the morning and a basic technique as you fall asleep. That way you aren’t destroying your health trying to get more of them.

The first few are crazy dopamine rushes. It’s the most addicting feeling ever at first. Once you’ve had like 10, the reward vs work ratio begins to diminish
