1/infinity = 0 that is when dividing a small number by a large number the result is close to 0. The larger the denominator the closer to zero. Therefore it is said to be 0

Nope,

How can (1/infinity)^-1 equal infinity, while (-1/infinity)^-1 equal negative infinity??? If 1/infinity were equal to the Great 0??

1/0 can be infinity from the right, or negative infinity from the left.

However nothing is in-between -1/infinity and 1/infinity except 0.

1/infinity could be treated as the 2nd smallest quotient in Math!

What I showed is simple to follow along with. If you can't see it, I don't know what to tell you. I'm not going to play professor and try to teach you. Perhaps your level of math is higher than mine. What are math credentials?

Avatar of Mathemagician_2

Post anything here, that you would like me to prove or disprove.

For example

My Post #80, totally disproved your Post #79.

Another 12-15 year old... which is fine, that's basically the whole forum.

I ask one more time. What are your math credentials?

Avatar of Mathemagician_2

I don't need any, for "Abstract Theoretical Math."

Do you have a degree in "Logic." per say

I should think not.

Good ol' Norm Macdonald

I have no credentials in Math.

If you do, then you should be ashamed.

Yeah, people with a math degree are right up there with adulterers, serial killers, and people who put the toilet roll on backwards.

Nope, kinda funny but no.

I meant if; you had a Math degree you should be ashamed of yourself for posting such nonsense!

Says the kid who just recently learned about complex numbers and infinity, and is so excited about these new ideas that they post about it everywhere.

When do kids normally learn this... I guess you're what? 17 or 18 years old?

But a 17 year old wouldn't be so silly... so maybe your older sibling is learning about them, or maybe you're a curious 14 year old who saw a video about infinity online... I'm leaning towards something like that.

X=0.999…
10X=9.999…
10X-X=9X=9
9X=9
X=1

Yes Mikey...same proof I did in post #70

They are Theories and Formulas, I deduced myself.

I don't assume you are some kid, just a slightly mentally efficient "Adult."

You like picking on kids, you are not very skilled at it.

Maybe you have "credentials" as Clown at kids' parties?

Avatar of ActivatePlan357

Actually magic math kid, a person would need a degree in mathematics to be considered a mathematician. There are a lot of theorems that mathematicians need to know. In fact, I would argue that having a bachelors degree is not enough. I would consider a masters or PhD would be needed.

Avatar of ActivatePlan357

The theories and formulas that you deduced yourself seem off and you might consider doing some more reading. There are good websites that you can read to get a better understanding on how proofs work. In fact, there are classes that focus on formulating proofs. For example, proof by induction which was done first formally by mathematician Pascal

Nope, but I've done more math than you tongue.png

No to that too.

Sorry llama I won’t do that mistake again!
My math question is 3x+1 (collatz conjecture)

Like I said, I have no credentials. I've had some math classes, and I sometimes watch math related youtube videos.

I remember the veritasium video on the collatz conjecture... obviously the video doesn't have a lot of math, but I'm not a mathematician so that's good happy.png
