I just love how this whole thread has nothing to do with chess...

Are you here because you want to get better at chess or because you want other people to listen to you complain?

Or you can discuss things and find a common ground.

Sure by all means, if someone offends you report them and or sent them a message stating your complaint.

Whinning in public about it is useless and its working on peoples nerves.

The main problem with "offensive" material is, what makes it offensive! If one or two people find something offensive does the mean we have to take there opinions to heart and then do what they say, like remove the offensive post? If that is true and we respect their point of view then we must also respect the point of view of ANY offensive post someone may point out regardless of whether or not we find it offensive.

I might find a post that does not agree with my own opinion of something in which case it would offend me. Therefore we would have to delete that and any and all posts that I, or you, disagree with because they offend me or because they offend anyone else!

The problem stems from how touchy we are about certain subjects. I for one am very open minded. This does not mean that I dont' get offended but I would rather respect the opinions of others than "burn books" so to speak.

Actually, the people out there who do NOT like the, quote,"offensive" material can hardly be labled the "minority." I have been an active member on several different chess web sites that have forums (i.e. chess maniac, red hot pawn, etc.). And the people that agree there should be MORE restrictions on forums are actually a majority.  I personally started a forum once that simply asked whether or not the different members thought that "offensive" material should be allowed or not and whether or not they thought that the moderators could be a little more strict and the response was contrary to the above statement made by the chess.com member.  I do not personally have an opinion one way or the other about "offensive" material on forums except this: Keep in mind that you may think everyone who reads what you're posting is a "big" boy or girl(as the case may be) but ALL the online chess sites allow thirteen(13) year old kids to become members. So, what you've got to ask yourself is, would you tell this dirty(and yes, the NATIONAL MAJORITY would call them "dirty." Jokes of the nature posted garner a PG-13 rating in the US from the MPAA when told on television.) joke to a thirteen(13) year old.  If the answer is yes, then I would honestly dare you to try it sometime.  And do us ALL a favour, and stop telling chessviper to get a life.  It's not as though you have one anyway if you stand up for such debauchery and base lewdness.

P.s.. Since this forum is over two years old, i can.definitely say that chess.com was a debate site(see the "Christian music forum
