I know this is easier said than done, but as a 52 year old who got hassled by alot of people growing up, it's important to develop a thick skin. certain people, whether because of jealousy, insecurity, whatever, are always going to be pains. be thankful for your skills and don't resent these people or it will make you bitter. as far as saying chess is for nerds, I wouldn't bother to respond that it improves thinking and mental abillity. being who they are, you are probably just buying into their nonsense. just smile with the knowledge that you are good at a very challenging game and they probably don't know the difference between a pawn promotion and graduation day.
word....happens to me all the time...the bein called it......and then my friend is a nerd and wen i call him one....like makin fun of...he tells me that he wuld rather be a nerd the stupid
I honestly don't really care about the people who call me a nerd. I can beat them in probably any sport they want to play. They are just jealous of me and try to put me down. So I just ignore them; I'll probably be their boss someday.
live your life be happy with yourself and learn to ignore ignorant people
Don't worry...In the business World ... most of the nerds are the owners of large companies. Would you rather be a rent collecting nerd or a rent paying bully?

Lots of people call me a nerd.... or a geek. It doesn't really phase me much because I go to a college full of nerds and geeks - its focus is in science/engineering. It's more of a compliment here. Calling someone a nerd is acknowledging that they belong here.
what if your not popular and stupid? what do i do then i mean if someone had worst of both then what?

anyway, i love to read books, and i have one with me almost everywhere.
certian people call me a nerd because i am not as popular as them. if i tell them i do have friends, they say i'm lying. i say i would rather be smarter than the average person and "wierd" than a stupid person who is popular. oh, and they also say chess is for nerds, and when i say it improves logical thinking and mental ability, that i am wierd. are they jealous of me? do people call you nerds?
