#102 I don’t think it matters if you feel it’s still a loss. Imagine a trip you never you would have but it is cancelled so you never knew of its existence and it never happens. You aren’t affected by it but it is still happiness you missed out on.

If so losses aren't realy a bad thing because you suffer infinite losses at every point of you existences/non existence

Avatar of PointlessR
Well no, because any loss is potential good being taken away from you, whether you knew about it or not.

You're just making up things at this point

? How come?

People used to think that when you die, your soul rose up, like a bubble in a 7up bottle...

Avatar of PointlessR
if you mean a soul going to heaven, then people still believe that

#107 I don't think we are making anything up. We are debating if after you die you stoping to exist is a loss

Avatar of shadaomatch

No? Do you want to keep living when you're 95, 105?

Avatar of shadaomatch

When you lose a bad headache, is that a loss?

Avatar of Bezap

#106 what I mean is that ate every point of you existing/non existing a infinite amount of good things can happen to you, and that means that you are experiencing a infinite amount of losses every moment. If that's the case anouther loss is not that bad.

#102 life is life. You ignore the intrinsic value of life itself
Avatar of Bezap

#112 the living me does want to stay living forever. But I think the dead me doesn't experience any loss.

Avatar of Bezap

#113 I think there is a value only for the living not for the dying

Avatar of PointlessR
#113 no, because you aren’t losing anything good you are losing something bad, which give you good.
Avatar of PointlessR
The dying are still alive. They have value as well #117
Avatar of Bezap

#119 I meant the dead my bad

Avatar of PointlessR
#120 well I suppose the dead can leave behind a legacy that gives everyone value.
Avatar of Bezap

So they could of gave more value to the living therefore the people losing are the living

Avatar of PointlessR
yes, but ultimately it’s the loss for the dead because at least the living, are, well, alive.
