puzzle streak meaning?

What does the puzzle “streak” mean on your stats? Eg: mine says best all time is 89. Assuming this doesn’t mean getting this correct 89 times in a row as my stats fluctuate between 50%-53% correct. Does anyone know?

idk for sure but maybe it’s how many days in a row you play

I think it would be the number in a row without missing any days but I'm not sure

I don’t think its that, I like my puzzles but I definitely missed many days this year. My last 90 days is 70-odd. They should explain this 🤦🏼‍♀️ thanks though!
