relax and be yourself
It's not a meaning that can be explained away through words, concepts and symbols.
Remember that movie, Blast from the past? Brendan fraser's character kept asking his dad why the batter must run when he becomes a base runner. And finally he says 'I get it. Because he must.'
There is no meaning for a life lived in illusion. But there is plenty of meaning in truth.
Haha!! Why, becuase he couldn't explain it to him? Keep in mind, he never saw the actual game taking place. Yes, when you explain what are the conditions to become a base runner, laid out by the rules of the game, then there are no more 'why must he go there?' questions.
Drugs can never act as a true gateway. False gateway, yes. But basically, they are simply another form of escape from a reality which hasn't been understood.
This is why a person who does drugs lacks intelligence--nothing is really understood, despite the brain aparently functioning temporarily differently. Yet deep inside, the motive for taking drugs comes from the very self, which is trying to escape its own reality: deep inside, it's still there.
Hum, is it the drugs that are the problem, Or the reality?
To 449: Both. The reality and the drugs which help create the impression of the possibility of escaping reality, which is a no-no.
We are escaping reality all the time: we are suffering and are trying to move away from it, thus we are perpetuating it. What happens when one stops escaping suffering?
and the kid can't do much about it
About his father being a moron? Haha. At least eventually he got it.
If you're not suffering, then what happens? You can never 'mind your own little corner' again. Because you see the implications, the beauty of not suffering and naturally you want others to come to that state. It's not something one enjoys on their own, on a trip to the Grand Canyon.
