salvation comes through faith in Christ alone...faith has no burden of proof, it is simply believing what you cannot prove...if you have to prove something before you believe it, it ceases to be faith...anyway, i believe all politicians to be self serving opportunists who are for sale to the highest bidder( whether they're religious or not)

all religions are man made attempts to reach God through good works and deeds or obedience to rules and laws...true faith in Christ is NOT a religion, it is placing your faith in the Son of God and His suffering, death and resurrection for our sins...we must first accept the fact that we are all sinners and incapable of being good enough or working our way to heaven, then simply trust that Christ has already paid for our sins and there is no need whatsoever for any addition to his atonement...by faith, ask Christ to save you and you can be assured He will..."Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ" Romans 5:1

but for an atheist it is first necessary to believe that God exists in the first place...simply put, all humans are born with faith(NOT religion)...the difference between people is what or whom they place that faith in...for instance an atheist places his or her faith in the belief that God is not real or doesnt exist...i have placed the faith i was born with in Jesus Christ
