My cow died today 😔  She died pregnant, and we lost the calf too.

Comment if you've ever lost a pet...

sad.png sorry to hear that! A long time ago my dog Trigger passed away. I don't remember him much though. I just remember that he was an elderly dog who stayed in our garage because it was too cold outside and I sometimes went there and "read aloud" to him lol

This is the first time someone/something I had an emotional connection with died... I'm not sure how to react...

I, too, am sorry for your loss. about five years ago I adopted an old shelter cat named Molly. I had her about three years before she developed stomach cancer and had to be put down.

I've also owned two dogs, a cockatiel, and my best buddy Kima (another cat), who are all buried together on some land I own. I now have another cat that sometimes pretends to like me so life goes on. That's something you'll adjust to. Life continues regardless. Someday the clouds will clear and the sun will shine again.
Years ago, after going through a pretty dark time, this song became one of the themes of my life. Maybe it can lift the spirits of some folks here.

My rabbit died just over a year ago. After burying her, I burned my name and her name onto two pieces of wood. I put one piece by her grave and kept the other by my bed.
Whenever I was feeling sad it would help

I lost 3 cats and cried each time. Each were rescue cats and one was disabled. I wrote a song for Jessie when he died. It's an emotional time

That's life. You gotta take the bad with the good. I loved every one of those pets, and like mikekelcey, I watered their graves with tears. It's painful to lose loved ones, even pets, but the joy of having known them remains strong as the pain of losing them weakens. Things will get better.

sorry about that

It’s heart wrenching to lose a pet , that you love so much , and I sympathise greatly for all those people who’ve experienced such a situation . Over a period of many years, I’ve experienced such situations on many occasions, and not only concerning my own pets , but also those of other people. My work at a local animal sanctuary, brings me in contact with sone very distressing situations.
