Rubik's Cube

i broke mine also trying to cheat
LOL - Kinda tempting to peel those stickers, huh? I want to buy one from the rubiks.com website that doesn't use stickers, but is actually painted on. There's even a "speed cube" that they sell on there that has adjustible springs, again with the painted colors instead of stickers. But given how horrible I am at the puzzle so far, I need to stick with the basic one... perhaps saving the money for the psychiatric bills!

I bought both "stickerless" and stickered and I can say stickerless is better for speedcubing, and stickered feels different. If you are planing to buy a better one, (or the best one) and planing to use it every day you should buy a stickerless zhanchi (or GuHong, what ever you prefer) . In other case you should probably buy stickered. They are not that expensive if you love to cube.

I studied the basic "layer" method. I did not try to invent my own methods. My nephew, like all kids at his level, studied the existing algorithms for direct solves, and created some of his own. No one at that level is trying to reinvent the wheel. As for photographic memory, I do not think that is the case, nore do I think it is a real thing, but that is a separate conversation. He studied and practiced for hours per day for years to get as good as he was.
It is like a high level chess player who can play blindfold. For a new player, it is impossible, but once you have existing patterns, it becomes easier. When a Rubiks blindfold solver does it, they see patterns, not just randomness. when he looks at the cube, before putting on the blinds, he is thinking of the algorithms, and the patterns, not the individual placement of each block.

no itook out each cube and i wanted to put them back in correctly mine wasnt one of those you dould do that

I am currently working on trying to solve the Rubik's Cube. The current extent of my power is solving the green side.

Check out THIS Rubik's Cube! This person solves the biggest Cube, a 17x17, in 7 hours 32 minutes and 46 seconds.

I heard 17 moves is also possible
The superflip position was the first one proven to require 20 moves to solve, so, 17 is not always enough.
It's 18.

We have advanced to 100x100 rubix cube!
