I know and that is utterly disgusting. I teach kids with autism and I absolutely love working with them - they are so intelligent, funny, quirky, and so ALIVE.

It's called that because it was discovered by the English doctor John Down. The actual medical term is Trisomy 21 because there are 3 chromosomes on the 21st gene and there are typically only two on any one gene. I call my son "chromosomally enriched!"
