Scotch

Glenlivet and Glenfidich are table scotch at best which many people like. As for McCallan I bought my 1st bottle as an xmas gift to myself, Cask Strenght and was disapointed. Alcohol 58% was way over powering and needed water to coax out the boutique..... Could have gotten a better bottle for much less..Cest la vie.

See, when it comes to Scotches, my limited experience drinking them and my time as a bartender has led me to the conclusion that there are 2 viable ways to drink them and get the full taste experience: either drink them neat, or diluted with room-temperature water in a 1:1 ratio. Ice apparently wrecks it, which of course, never deterred any of my clientele from ordering scotch on the rocks.

But I have to say,  I thought adding water to scotch was fairly normal for the very purpose of drawing out the bouquet.

A tear drop or two true IMO. I am an ultra neat fan! Just my preferance.

I won't speak to the cask strength because I've never had it, but don't write off the Macallan until you've tried their 25.

I will not. Trust me!

my girlfriend and i did that, with a twist. we didnt have one of the boards for it, just one shot glass. so we took a half shot for every point a piece was worth. we didnt realize that wed be totally hammered after about a half hour haha it was fun though.

have to say i prefer bourbon to scotch though, but maybe i havent drank enough to appreciate it.

Ah Good bourbon is Bomb,, Bakers#7 ,my all time fav.. Hard to find selection here in Canada. (probably a good thing)

Got me Talisker 18yr on the go now and can only say *Wow!* Well worth a try!

Hmmm... Personally.... I have a Connoisseur Chess Set of which each piece is a drinking glass that you can pour your favorite beverage in (preferably nice Scotch or some other booze).  Each time you capture a piece.. you get to consume it.  Let me tell you... your game strategy changes rapidly when you are attacking your opponent's pawns as fast as you can!!!

By the way... Vancouver and Victoria are BEAUTIFUL places!!  Been there many times.
