If you are a male and use an avi of a woman...seek professional help.

i did and never had any problems. in fact it is a lot easier to make friends with an avi of a woman. but of course i have always said that  i'm not a woman. nor pretending to be one or being cross gender or any question people might ask. i say the pictures are my associates. which is kind of true or the closest it can be to the truth in my humble opinion

Actually, you are one of the people I was thinking of. Do whatever suits you. You might want to talk to someone though.

You will find thousands impolite male creatures here in chess.com :) They usually ask your e-mail & beg you to send them your nude body.

Which is why you post them constantly on this website. I would think you would at least use different lettering and a different female avatar.

Agreed:)

You have to report these perverts...they will get tossed from chess.com

No, they all dont get tossed and if they do, they open up another account to harass you if they are persistent. After a while you get a feel for the types that do it, where they come from and can ward them of that way. and blocking does work well.

Quite true. One guy opened about 5 accounts so he could talk to me. Gosh he was annoying. And not all women who are harassed post pictures of themselves half naked. I never would cause there's a beauty inside that disapears if I would.

Weirdo , 5 accounts ?

Avatar of u1234567890_1

yep, 5 accounts! So it became hard knowing who to block. Eventually he left me alone.

Its the beauty inside that is most important. But your right. These objectifying a$$ chasers will stop at nothing to bug the hell out of you if they really want to.  I went through the same thing with this dude for about a month. I finally stopped accepting friend requests and it stopped but it was absurd... account after account... i would block him and another one would pop up. It was sick.

the only thing is, and i cannot believe i really have to say this, half or a quarter or completely doesn't allow to harrass. i know i'm canadian but those things have been debated such along time ago. i cannot believe that

If you were actually a girl you would believe it.

you really dont understand what i'm saying. i know very well it is happening. i know very well women are harassed. what i'm saying is that people do the same mistake again and again and again to put the fault on the women and their clothes . here at chess.com the censorship policy is so strict that it has that nefarious effect of having people think that it is the fault of the women and their clothes. there seems to be a general understanding that it is normal to put again the responsability on women because of what they are wearing and johnny make that same mistake and it seems that most of the people make the same mistake and you too it seems make the same mistake. what i'm saying is that no matter what a woman wears it does not allow others to harass her. if she is wearing nothing it is not allowed, if shes half naked it is not allowed if shes one quarter naked it is not allowed. it is never allowed. its not the fault of the woman and her clothes. men have a tendency to be stupid, thats all.

Having been here for quite a while i believe that only to a certain point. If a woman doesn't want rude male attention, she needs to be aware that the type of avatar she has up and the behavior she displays will certainly have an influence on the type of person who friends her. Its a given. If you look at the avatars of the half naked women in here you will find all the male predators in here swarm like flies on sh!t. Its just the way it is. Those women make those kinds of men feel that they can behave in that manner to all women.

The censorship in here being nefarious? I find that ridiculous. There are young children in here and the actions of "so called" adults should be monitored. As a parent, i dont want to see half naked or pornographic avatars in here  knowing there are children in here and i have to commend the staff for stepping up to the plate and improving on that in a big way.

So, although you are correct that what a woman wears< via avatar> in here should have no reflection as to whether she is harrassed or not. The truth of the matter is that the avatar posted has a direct effect on the kind of attention one will receive in here. That is the reality. It's not a matter of what should or shouldnt be. If i had an avatar named "crazy hairy dude" with a fat hairy man  photo, im certain that kind of attention wouldnt be a problem.

Sexual harassment is a big problem, but I think not all is that.

Would you consider harassment the question "can we sex chat" if she were who ask to him? (sorry for my english)

I would consider it if the question was asked again and again, pushing to him/her. But only for question?

By the way, I hate sexual harassment and I know it's a horrible problem, specially for women.

Avatar of alvarovix

And It's horrible to think that women are looking for harassment or something like that only for wear a short skirt. Indeed, that's repugnant.

Avatar of alvarovix

It's as you think that black people deserve a racist insult only for being black.

Avatar of Pulpofeira

For me it's simply that "sex chat" is like putting the chart before the horse. And you don't ever know who you are chatting with.

That's not true. Three of my best friends are black. With all the rioting that's going on, I'm pretty sure it's the blacks who are racist against white.
