Should I get a laptop stylus or a drawing tablet?

I've had the HP ×360 Envy for a little more than a couple of years now. I recently discovered that there's a pen for it worth about $30. On the other hand, there are drawing tablets (+ pen of course) from XP-PEN and Veikk that cost about $25. I orginally got this laptop for the purpose of being able to draw/animate without knowing that a regular stylus won't do. I have this software that lets me draw with a regular stylus, but it has a tendency to skip. Anyways, should I get the stylus since I already have a touchscreen laptop or should I just buy a drawing tablet?
