Do you play tennis like a chess player? ;)

Well, I tend to use strategy and tactics.  Opponent gives me a soft ball, I demolish and exploit.  No blunders, I start playing to my strengths and his weak spots.  Also, if there was a "Deep Blue" of tennis, then it would make few/no blunders and might beat Djokovic 6-0 6-0!

I also use a variation.  Hit a few flat, topspin, slice... you never know what I am going to hit next!

Same can be applied to any sport / game.

Yeah of course.  Had to point tennis out though ;)

there are more similarities between chess and tennis than there are for other sports in my opinion.

I think so as well ;)
Football also has a few, but tennis players needa think like chess players

But isn't there strategy to expolit weakness and tactics to defeat ur opponent in all sports / games? Just asking.

Yeah there is

...so in what way has Tennis more similarities?

Cos it's the players themselves composing their game plan.  In football it's the managers (like in Droylsden's case, Dave Pace makes the decisions)

Mmmm...maybe Ivan Lendl would contest that following Murray's recent victory in the US Open. Team effort was explained by Murray in the post match interviews.

Yeah true... although tennis, like chess, is individual solo effort :)

Mmm...I won't press the point too much, but there is a good argument that would go along the lines that the sports man/woman is simply carrying out the directions of the coach / manager. Therefore, as an example, the coaches instruction to play to the opponents weaker forearm or back hand is equivalent to the chess player choosing a night or a rook for his attack. I'm not sure I agree with your perception of the level of autonomy you think top sports people have in their matches.
