Hi everyone. For those of you who don't know, my name is Hazel. I joined the social side of Chess.com several months ago, and it's astonishing to see what's changed since then, and it also makes me so happy to look back on all my memories here on chess.com. If this post cuts off on app, please read it on web, especially if we're close friends.

Before I go on, let me just say that this isn't a goodbye... exactly. It's just that soon, because of irl things, I might not be active here or be able to log on at all. I might remain somewhat active, but I find it highly unlikely that I'll stay as active as I have this summer, at least as of now. So, I wanted you guys to have, well, I guess you could say something to remember me by. So, I thought I'd write a forum thanking you all for everything you've done for me these past few months. I'll be mentioning some amazing memories of mine, and just a few of the amazing people I met along the way.

It all started, when, due to 100% random chance, I landed on the Off Topic Forums page in December 2023. I scrolled through the page pretty often. At that time, I was on my first account, @thewaythewindblows.

I remember first joining the social side of chess.com, in February. I got a club invite from @The_turtlepro to a club called Knights Castle. I accepted the invite, and met a few people there, like @Minos_prime_001.

Then, I decided to join the forums I'd been stalking for a couple months now. My first forum was a forum by @Belugacrystal (who changed her username, I forget what the new one is), who was asking what she should change her username to. Then I ran into baby, and recommended him some romance novels, and it was.... quite the day. 🤣. I also met @CoolRichFordLover and @BurkeRevived. I remember Ford trying to flirt with me in DMs💀.

Later that day, I was invited to a club called Exotic Usernames. There I met @Donut, and, of course, the famous @Lilyana. @Lilyana and I became great friends almost immediately after complimenting each other's usernames. Later, I came to pixie's t/d forum and found Lilyana arguing with her cousin, none other than @basixwhiteeboy. I took Lily's side, as I found Basix's teasing and jokes annoying. I was even more against his friend, @LITO13mtz, who I found highly rude and annoying. (I was rude and annoying myself at the time.)

Soon, Basix decided to close for, like, the 23rd time, and before he closed, he apologized for anything that he'd done. When he came back again, the two of us didn't hate each other as much. Then I closed, and thought I would never come back. But when I did, Basix and i found that we were actually really similar, and became close friends.

I was facing hard times in my irl life soon after I returned, and Basix helped me through them all. I realized that I in fact loved Basix like a brother. He's such a sweet, kind, and funny person, and I'm so lucky to have gotten to talk to him the past few months.

I created a club which now has almost 300 members, and won another club with 200 members that got stolen and ban attacked.

I met a bunch of cool people.

Which brings me to here. Where I am right now. And I don't know what lies in the future. But I would like to thank some special people. Don't be offended if I leave you out, I know SOOO many people.

Finally, I want to thank @BasixWhiteBoy. Basix is my best friend, and my amazing brother who has helped me through so much. I wouldn't be here right now if it wasn't for him, and I'm so grateful for all he's done for me. Thank you so much, and I love you. ❤️

Thank you to each and every person who has helped me get to this place, and I'm so grateful for you all. I'm so grateful for all the good memories I have of chess.com, and I want to think y'all for being the best besties I could ever ask for. I love you all. ❤️. Thank u, next.
