For my part, and I've seen a lot of acts, the best act in terms of both musicianship and showmanship that I've ever seen is Queen.

This.

Yeah, Queen is great, but not as much as Lennon! Also, Abba is one of my faves.

Thanks for the recent posts.

I just heard a bit of news regarding a voice from the past. Neil Diamond is out touring again and he will make several stops up here in Canada.

Am given to understand Neil Diamond warms up before each concert with fencing exersizes. Apparently, he was quite good back in college.

Thanks for the posts.

A couple of weeks ago I was in a local store and came across a cute item. It is a Beatle calendar for this year and features photos of the Fab Four from the early days in the " Cavern " and going up to the time of the Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band album.

Years ago I used to drive a " Whistling  Beetle ". Yup it was a air cooled VW, built in 1974 and when got it up to about 70 mph on the highway that old fan was just whistling away.

Thanks for the new post.

Earlier I was listening to the 40's channel on my radio and they played a real cute song. It was the Louis Jordan Group doing " Run Joe ", a very funny and lively number done in the West Indies syle.

Gawwd cab, I feel so old now.

--- Thanks for the post Kaynight. Sorry about how you are feeling. If you want to laugh at the passage of time just watch a movie called " The Crew " ( with Richard Dreyfuss, Burt Reynolds etc ). It is a funny film and has a very cute song in it as well. As the end-credits start to roll Joe Peschi ( spelling ? ) sings a great number about " Old Man Time ".

For those visitors to this thread that have " a bit " of extera cash to spend I gather that the original manuscript made by Don Maclean when he wrote " American Pie " just went for $1.2 million ( I'm just a bit short here  lol ).

I am known to put in the The Lord of the Rings DVD, just to listen to Annie Lennox sing the closing credits. Her voice is amazing.

Kaynight: All I can say is that by doing that you are missing out on a true classic  lol.

The other day we lost a performer who was perhaps better known in the field of Blues music but he had a monster hit with the very nice " When A Man Loves A Woman ". Yes we lost Percy Sledge at age 74.
