Here's a Dub version of that great song, hope you like it! https://youtu.be/hu-bzhL6wzo
Some songs from years ago just had the funniest titles and one of these that I just saw on YouTube is " Doo Wah Diddy Diddy " done by Manfred Mann back in 1964 ( and it's a good song too lol ).
Just recently I had the chance to hear a clip of Kim Carnes doing " Betty Davis Eyes ", great song. Then I thought of another song with " Eyes " in the title which brought me to Sheena Easton with " For Your Eyes Only ". Easton also had a big hit with " 9 to 5 - Morning Train ", very nice as well.
Earlier today I heard the song " Susie - Q " in the original version from 1957 as done by Dale Hawkins. Two other versions of this song were also popular later, one from The Rolling Stones and one by CCR. Each performance is quite different from the others however the CCR version is probably the best known.
we seem to be in a different era now. in the past, remakes of many songs were different than the original, as you point out with susie-q, baddy. i've lately heard remakes of good songs where nothing was changed. one of the worst was a metal band doing a simon and garfunkel song. disgusting.
in my opinion, a remake should show the talent of the current band, and, they should put their own stamp on it.
here is an example of a remake that is true to the song, but the newer band made it a different song. led zeppelin's no quarter:

Those who want vocal finesse listen to The Beatles.
Those who want crude song topics listen to The Rolling Stones.
But those who want to be where the energy is listen to... The Who!

sqod, i don't agree with your assessment of the beatles and stones, but, you're right about the real me.

I'm very much a fan of how Ike & Tina Turner did " Rolling On The River ( Proud Mary ) " but having said that I think that CCR also did a very good version of that song.
Actually, Ike & Tina Turner did the cover version of John Fogerty's song, Proud Mary. CCR is possibly my favorite old group. I have to admit that the Turner's owned their version.
throughout my many years i am taken by those that love a song, and are told it was redone.
followed by crazy comments.

You mean like this guy who did an acoustic guitar "cover" of a classic rock song? Guess who wrote it!

While over on YouTube a while ago I came across a very funny song entitled " Money ( That's What I Want ) " which was released by The Beatles in 1963. There was a earlier version put out by Barret Strong but in 1979 a cute take of this song was done by The Flying Lizzards ( no I did not make up that name lol ).
