Saw this the weekend. Film of the year, No contest. Maybe best of all time?

I had forgotten that this film had already been released. After they, rather abruptly, killed off Franka "Lola Rennt" Potente's character in the second installment, I lost interest in the franchise.

I think Bourne Ultimatum definitely lived up to the previous Bourne movies and passed the Bourne Supremacy, but the Bourne Identity is still the best in my mind because it is what started the whole franchise.

As for Franka's character, it is sad that she was killed off, but I think it was necessary for the storylines to continue or Bourne would have just disappeared forever with her!

From what i can gather, the films are based on books by Robert Ludlum, The Bourne identity 1980, The Bourne supremacy 1986, and The Bourne ultimatum 1990. I've not read the books, but if Franka's character is killed off in the books, then it stands to reason that the characters going to be killed off in the film. I too thought that the identity was better than the supremacy, but the ultimatum put me in a dilemma over whether it was better than the identity. I think it was. Just. And here's a snippet of information for you. The Bourne identity was a made for TV film in 1988 starring Richard Chamberlain as Bourne.
