If memory serves me, I think Captain Janeway had something to that effect....
Indeed Ronny :)

I emailed Axanar and a couple of other indies and offered my assistance in the CGI/art/SFX department. Not that they need me, but when you are trying to produce a big budget non-profit film, free help is not a bad thing. Especially when I know how to do this stuff. Haven't gotten an answer yet. Probably won't. But it doesn't hurt to offer.
Indeed you have the talent and they would be better off to have your help. They may answer but of course they are most interested in donations. Close to a million so far but how much does Paramount spend on a Star Trek film Into darkness 185 million big difference there ??
"Prelude to Axanar" provided a compelling storyline and was well-produced. You don't need multi-millions of dollars to make a good film.
Then again, when you are on a tiny budget, you sometimes end up with "Plan 9 From Outer Space."

There is some truth in that. But Plan 9 was the result of movie makers who tried to compensate for their lack of skill by trying really, really, REALLY hard. It would not have mattered if someone donated 5 million dollars to the making of that movie. You would have just ended up with a very expensive turd.
Now, in contrast to that, Star Trek (TOS) was also on a very limited budget averaging $180,000 per show with The Immunity Syndrome being the most expensive.
You can definately make quality productions with little resorces. You just have to use those resorces correctly.
@ Capt. Pike: I happen to like Earl Grey, hot.
ahahahahahahaha That picture in 3808 is funny Dr. Isn't that Boris & Nathasha from "The Adventures Of Moose & Squirrel"?
Thank you, Dr Spudnik. The actress in the picture from the film was "Vampira" in 1950's television and film. She claimed that "Elvira" stole her act. The big guy, as I recall, was a professsional wrestler name "Tor."

Elvira totally ripped off Vampira.
Tor Johnson was a wrestler-turned-actor (and was not discovered by Ed Wood).
