What I would really like to do is post here the way I talk at home...but I make sure I'm careful lest my comment, after putting so much thought into it
, gets deleted ...
The Misogynist & The Feminist
so... you wanted to start a thread and see if the same people have some huge issue with a little philosophy, because you're you?!...
apparently they didn't go for it.
----
its all a little confusing how these issues begin. but I know One thing; its not clearer by starting a second thread.
as a suggestion from a guy who's been married a long time (20years). pm the girl you made mad, and apologize. or she might be mad for a long, long time. LOL.
----
ok, enough writing. I go back to lurking.
Wow. You're a really nice guy. I say that sincerely. I suppose that is how your marriage lasted 20 years. Do you apologize even when you don't/didn't do anything wrong and you apologize anyway just to keep the peace? Am curious.
I'm not very good at making compromises.. and if I ever apologize its for hurting her feelings...but hard for me to apologize for being wrong when I think that she's the one who's wrong...(I'm speaking generally here)
Well, quite a few women are mad at me here...
Anyways, since we're aiming for equality between men and women, if I don't apologize to any of the guys here when the exchange gets heated, why would I apologize simply because the heated exchange happens to be with women?....
@feu... honestly - yes!
the point is that you didn't intend to insult them. as far as equality goes, you might say an equal measure of courtesy might be met in kind.
this is the internet. and we're all used to people being pretty rude around here. but if you want to prove to people that you're not the troll they think you are- you might want to make this shocking gesture.
but, advice. I wouldn't go at it, like " [x], i don't know WHAT your problem is but I didn't intend to insult you (and you and you). "
and btw, I would say/feel that way even if it was a big bunch of frequent Guy Posters. your call. GL.
Is it possible to be a Misogynist and a Feminist at the same time?? Well, my late brother was...he would always say, "chicks RULE!"...so I guess he was misogynist with the whole 'chick' word, and by saying they rule, he was feminist...
Maybe...I talk like George Carlin at home...feels good to talk like that - cathartic.
