The Problems With New RPs
The problem is that so many are being made that the spammy ones overshadow the well-thought-out ones.

First off, can we stop using Roblox characters? I get it, you think 1x is cool or whatever, but honestly I disagree, especially after having seen it a hundred times. Another thing with the characters; we've had a problem recently where a lot of people are trying to "make the RP fun" by having an OP character to go against. Please, make a character that can be countered in some way. If you want to make the RP fun, theres other ways to do that, and if you want to be funny, ruining the experience for others, isn't a good way to do it.
Now lets get onto the bigger stuff.
Character sheets:
Honestly I don't have a lot to complain about for character sheets. Mainly, just make it quick and easy to jump in, and where I don't have to research a thousand things before I can join. And if I would have to, please provide the information I would need in an easy to access location.
Story:
If your Dragon, you know I'm generally trying to make a greater story with all the RPs that are out there. If you don't, when making a RP, to include it in this story, please add "[M]" to the title of your thread. Now, before starting your RP, you should ALWAYS know about the world your putting people in. Who's the enemy? What are the locations? Why is the enemy the enemy, and what history could they have with the characters? These, among more, are all very important questions to ask well before you even go on OTF to create the forum.
Maps, Events, and other knowledge provided to the players beforehand:
I personally think its good to have a map. Maps are useful for finding out whats nearby, how long the path to there should be, so on and so forth. While maps can be difficult to make, you could always just draw a few blobs, slap some symbols on it, and call it a day. Events are tricky. I personally think they should only be given during the RP, or at the start if the RP starts during a major event. Other knowledge can generally be added through pure text, so just sit down and write (or type) it down at some point.
Script:
Scripts should generally be avoided, though they can help to generally keep people on track, and in order.
Fighting:
I hate turn based RPGs, however, a turn based combat system is perfect for these. Trying to use a live combat system feels weird, both as a player, and the DM. Try to avoid live combat systems in your RPs.
NOTE I MAY ADD MORE AS I THINK ABOUT IT LATER THIS IS NOT NECESSARILY FINAL
