There are four types of trolls on these forums.

Those 1. that spam dumb posts, those 2. that are rude intellectuals; those that A. do so intentionally and B. those that are unaware or have too little dignity to care.

Type 1 are the the most prevalent. 2B are the most insidious. 2A are occasionally humorous when directed wittily toward type 1A or mocking 1B (possibly 1A acting the part believable), and otherwise usually just jerky as the object of derision probably did not deserve the rudeness.  Types 1 & 2 and A & B are not mutually exclusive, although for the most part this dichotomy holds true. For example" intellectuals of class 2 are not prone spamming, and those that intentionally post dumb comments are not sophisticated enough to be considered jerks (just annoying usually,  with spritzes of humor where satire be poignant).

Example of a soft 1B comment. Disagreement for sake of disagreeing with no counter-example to offer. cute but dumb.

Guilt by association.  Not that all trolling is inifitself bad. moderation 

Per the definitions above, no; it passes neither the stupidity test for 1 nor the rudeness requirement for 2. It is however in the smart-ass spirit of quasi2A.

So I reckon I could qualify as 2B in eyes of someone who takes quick offense to misperceived pomposity.

there are a few other types, class C is the stalker who gets mods to remove your avatar, delete your posts, try to be an annoyance in general, low life bums, they are all from britain.
