Using chess strategy to analyze Raw manga plotlines

Hello everyone! I had an interesting thought about how some of the strategic thinking required in chess could be applied when analyzing manga storylines and character motivations. For example, in a ヒロアカ manga the main character is often on a journey to increase their skills and power. This progression could be thought of like advancing pawns or developing pieces in the opening phase of a chess game. The antagonists or challenges that the hero faces are like the opponent's defenses they must overcome. Character alliances and team-ups are like consolidating control of the center and coordinating an attack. Anyway, I'd love to hear people's thoughts on if they draw any other parallels between chess strategy and dissecting manga plotlines! Please share any examples you can think of.
I have an idea. You know how in some manga storylines, the antagonist is stronger than the protagonist in the beginning, but the protagonist gains or discovers greater strengths or skills and uses them to overcome the antagonist? For every move you make in a game of chess, you can take a manga and toss it into a fire.
