Who downvoted? All i did was tell the guy that using the same opening every time won’t get him very far. It’s a lesson for everyone.
Well, just cancelled someone’s subscription to tricking people
Yea I don't see how it's true that using the same opening won't get someone very far. Not at the sub-Grandmaster level that most of us on chess.com play at. We're playing randoms over the internet, so I don't see why it matters if someone plays the same opening each time - if anything it's probably a good idea as they'll build familiarity with the lines and positions that arise. It would be different if we were grandmasters playing in serious competitions where the opponent will be looking up our games and if they see we always play the same 1 opening they can prepare against the lines we play. But that isn't the case for 99.9% (or whatever) of us

Exactly… the more you practice what works for you best the better your mold that strategy, working that tactic.. you see what works, what doesn’t, especially if you had created your own tactic, not some book gained knowledge but your own creating and peeking it to perfection as you play it.. I had done that pretty well and then began running into engine players, enough to have me stop altogether standard and now I only will play 960, or 4 player FFA.

is this a variation of the “I’m a 5 year old” five move checkmate opening?
