Well, I still have not figured out how to start a new thread. Maybe you need to have a certain number of posts or maybe I'm just too stupid. Anyway, I have responded to a couple of posts hoping someone will help me out.

I like Arena, but I somehow messed it up. the `Edit' button under the Move list has disappeared.  The little arrows that allow you to play through a game move-by-move have disappeared. The menu underneath the toolbar has disappeared. I can load a PGN file, but can't go through it one move at a time. It just zips rapid-fire to end of game.

I have no clue at what I did to cause this change. And no clue how to fix it. Can't find any tech support e-mail for Arena.

'Scuse me for barging into your thread, but I would appreciate if if someone could help me out, or give me link to a site that might help.

Thanks.

Hmm, in the upper-right corner of the Chess.com screen, a "Forums" area with a huuge green button labeled "New Topic"... anyway...

If you've hopelessly messed up Arena beyond repair, you could always uninstall and reinstall...

Thank you, EscherehcsE.

I did uninstall Arena. Turns out that's not quite enough. The uninstall function doesn't remove every part of Arena, so when you reinstall, the settings are the same as they were. You hafta manually delete the sub-directory. On my system, it was in the Program Files (X86) directory.

Got Arena working fine now.

True, sometimes the config files get left behind. When I was running Windows 7, I got into the habit of using Geek Uninstaller, which could usually remove all traces of installations.
