Roleplay means that you play an elaborate strategy game that has a genre like Fantasy or Science Fiction with a little story narrative. You control a single “character”, a pawn you generate using the game rules with a combination of features such as class, loadout, and species, and have a lot of rules for things it can do in battles or moving around the board. Your pawn levels up and gets new abilities when it survives, reaches objectives, or eliminates enemies. There’s usually an element of luck in these games, as outcomes are decided through not only your tactics, but the results of many dice rolls that you receive bonuses and penalties to based on your pawn’s abilities.
