What is better chess or backgammon?

Honestly on one hand chess is good cause you think about your moves. But backgammon is good cause it teaches you how to play in luck games. If anyone has a different opinion please tell me below.

I've never tried Backgammon. 

i might be biased but I think chess is probably better. Dealing with probability can also be learned through playing Poker. 

Which game is better is of course just a matter of personal preferrence.
