Love is not a feeling. Not an emotion. It is a decision to show thoughtful deeds to a person even if they reject you.
Love comes from God... it's in our soul. Why don't animals love? Because they don't have a soul.
Good luck!

Maybe you are...
Don't you see any difference between humans and dogs for example?
Humans can think and show emotion. Dogs can't.
But there are only 50 miles! Is there the Great Canyon in the middle by chance?
yes a cultural one.

Dog's can't show emotion????
If there is one animal that really loves unconditionaly , it's dogs.
Dogs know what is unconditional love much more than humans.
They won't hesitate even a minute to give their life for the one they love. What humans would do only for the closest family persons or the woman they love , dogs would do for anyone that would show them a little love.
Humans are emotionally crippled creatures , dogs are not.

Dogs do not feel emotion. What seems like emotion is simply instinct. Do you think that dogs "love" their owners? No, they can't even like their owners. Whatever it is in their instinct is telling them that they should be around their master.
Let's be clear on this: dogs cannot love.
I would like to know how we know dogs & nanimals can't love. I would think we may be able to find out w/ some psychological testing. Interesting.
I do wanna be say that I feel nurturing is not really love but a survive-assist or a survive-instruct thingy.
Which leads me to....Why do animals feel a need to continue their species ? Is this an act of selfishness or selflessness ?
If dogs can feel happy, sad, they can also feel love.
I really like that and I absolutely agree.
Jen I'm not convinced by the idea of love for your country. What does that actually mean?
Perhaps when people die for their country who they are really dying for is the people in their life that they love.
Look what can we love? Can we love an idea? Our country is an idea no?
Can we love our favourite biscuit? Aren't we getting confused here?
this is where I'm at. I see a beautiful sunset. Do I love it?
I see a person is beautiful and I love them for it. Is it the same thing?
By the way I get the idea that everything is symmetrical, duality.
I think though Jen you may be thinking about a type of love that is in response to something.
So we see a youth pushing an elderly person we feel hate, helping that elderly person love.
I believe though an agape love, love of everyone, exists within us and I don't believe that there is an opposite to this love, this energy that resides within.
Maybe it's closer to the truth to say this agape love is all emotion combined.
