WhAt IS your IQ
I wouldn't correlate IQ and chess too strongly. I am within 5 points of my brother. I am a 1700 and he is a 2200 and we have both played frequently for decades. Chess takes a lot of study and if you do so when younger it will be far more effective than when older.
I also wouldn't worry about IQ. It is extremely helpful up to a +1 standard deviation with sharply diminishing returns after. Wisdom is far, far more valuable. Hyper-intelligent and low wisdom people are some of the biggest fools on this planet.
No one in history had a better memory than Solomon Shereshevsky, and he had an average IQ. Magnus and the Rain Man's memories are like an ant's compared to him.
Mine is clearly higher than the OP's! The A, I (in is) and S shouldn't be capitalized and the question mark is missing!
It is fallacy to interpret one's skills at chess as having a low or high IQ, good problem solving skills obviously will help you a lot in chess but that does not necessarily transfer over to other areas. Just like in say football Wayne Rooney was genius calculating things in a split second but could he do that in an academic setting I don't think so.
Here is what an average IQ (confirmed via testing) person did (from Wikipedia), something no human in history could remotely compare to:
"Shereshevsky also participated in experiments in which he showed that he had control over his body's involuntary (autonomic) functions. From a resting pulse of 70–72, he was able to increase it up to 100 by and decrease it to a steady 64–66."
and
"Throughout his life, Shereshevsky was tasked with memorizing complex mathematical formulas, huge matrices, and even poems in foreign languages that he had never spoken before, all of which he would memorize with meticulous accuracy in a matter of minutes."
and
"Shereshevsky was also able to simultaneously raise the temperature of his right hand by 2 degrees while lowering the temperature of his left hand by 1.5 degrees."
etc...
