What is your weirdest experience walking down the street?

Once I was walking past this guy who was shouting “Yo, yo yo!” 😂

Mine would have to be when some elderly fella had fallen at the curb of a crossing, I saw him as apparently he was attempting to get up while at least five people were near enough to assist the poor guy and I instantly grabbed him, he was homeless and smelled fouler than 3 outhouses, carried him to the other side and helped make sure he was stable enough to be sitting on a small wall seating area. I couldn’t get over how obnoxious those others simply moseying on by as if nothing had happened, nor the slightest care and was extremely ticked off, had to contain myself before charging over to the poor guy because I was so amazed their heartless attitude. Definitely the weirdest.

so I'm mildly allergic to weed. it's not apparent, it only shows if someone literally shoves some in my face. one day I was walking and a group of potheads passes me by and my reaction happened. my lungs woosh and I have trouble breathing for a good 2 minutes. so these guys turn around and come towards me with that face that says "oh no what happened". I'm waving them away and they were like "dude are you trippin? you need help?" I managed to say "I'm just asthmatic." so they backed up and I could breathe. weird for me bc they were out in the open before it was legalized where Iive.

A while back, whilst on a weekend in London. I took an evening stroll along the Thames embankment by Westminister
Bridge , and walked past a rough sleeper lying on one the many benches that were placed along that area. A few minutes later a car stopped nearby to where this guy was sleeping, a group of young guys got out of the car , walked up to the bench , and began to urinate on him , and laughing got back in the car , and drove off. It left me feeling very sick , that people could act in such disgusting, and inhuman way towards a fellow human.

That's awful!  So degrading.

My experience would be I was walking to the gym one night, during the holidays. I was passing by a clothing store on my way, when I saw a very elderly security guard, with a limp, shouting at this young guy who was running away with a bunch of clothes. I felt so bad for the security guard - you know he'd rather be someplace else but here he is working! - some kind of instinct took over - foolish instinct - and I dropped my gym bag by the guard and started chasing the guy who had stolen the clothes. He looked back, probably couldn't believe this woman was chasing him - and dropped the clothes. Only after did I think how foolish that was. I just felt so bad for the security guard - he looked about 75 AND a limp.

Many years ago, I lived in Moncton, NB, Canada. I was unemployed and flat broke. I was walking down the street, not far from my (then) home when I noticed that there were some workmen renovating the apartments upstairs from the Pizza Delight on the corner. Being bored, I stopped and stood there watching the workmen, catching occasional glimpses of them at work inside the upper floor. They seemed to be ripping up the carpets and rolling them up.

One of the workmen glanced out the window and saw me, and he shouted down to me "Hey! Want a rug?"

I said "Sure!"… I had no need for a rug, but it was free and I thought this might be entertaining.

A couple of the workmen started edging a large rolled-up rug out the upper floor window, and I got ready to catch it as it snaked down the side of the building.

At exactly this moment, a car pulled in to the Pizza Delight parking lot and a guy in a business suit got out and asked "How much for the rug?"

I said "Fifty bucks."

He passed me a wad of cash, and as the rug came sliding down the side of the building he waved me away, caught the rug, and started dragging it over toward his car. Glancing up, I saw that the workmen were getting another rolled-up rug ready to go.

While I was still counting the money, another well-dressed man came up to me and asked "Are you selling rugs?"

I answered "I guess so..."

We quickly settled on fifty bucks, and he waved me back and caught the second rug as it came down. Glancing up again, I saw that the workmen were laughing and grinning at me. I waved the double handful of money at them and asked "Do you guys want some of this?" but they refused... perhaps they weren't allowed to sell stuff off the construction site.

Meanwhile a third man was approaching me...

Within half an hour, I made nearly $200.

I never touched a rug.

Blueemu, hysterical!

It reminded me of another story. I asked a homeless woman, Mary, whom I would frequently stop and talk to, if she needed any supplies. She had told me that most of the local shelters had closed down. Anyway, on her list were an umbrella, folding chair, pillows and another blanket.

On my way to see her, lugging this stuff (and wearing sweats), I saw a homeless woman coming from the opposite direction, and thinking of Mary, I asked if there were any shelters nearby. This woman gave me details, the inside scoop, and even hugged me when I went on my way. It only dawned on me after, that with the blanket and other gear, she must have thought I was homeless. She extended such kindness. I was moved.
