If you cannot comment on his threads, then he might have blocked you....That's the only plausible explanation.
I have the same situation.
@evert823 was actually my friend.But today when he made a mistake in posting something,I told him that there is a mistake.Someone else also told him that,but he didn't listen,in fact,he blocked me.I was so confused by his action.
That's not like Evert...

If you think he blocked you, try to offer him a friend request and it should say "this user has blocked you"
