Oddly enough, the Pennamite-Yankee wars occurred 1769-1784 between Pennsylvania and Connecticut over disputed territory, because originally Connecticut was ment to stretch across the whole continent. Even when they noticed how big the continent was, they still said a big chunk of Northern Pennsylvania was theirs.

Many people overlook the Iran-Iraq War (1980–1988), despite its importance and breadth. Trench warfare, chemical weapons, and significant casualties were all part of this eight-year conflict. It caused long-term instability in the region and influenced Middle Eastern politics. It deserves more attention in war studies and historical debates.

Ah yes, the "Phillipine-American War"...actually referred to as the Phillipine Insurrection, since Americans had been there since ousting the Spanish in 1898. Filipinos rose up in 1899, several thousand American lives were lost (it was our "Little Vietnam"), but was ultimately put down by 1902.
