Here's an interesting fact : in some cultures the future is thought of as behind you and the past is in front of you . This is because in their perspective the past has happened and thus can be "seen" by the eye thus being in front and future being behind you cause you can't see it.
A building can be 1000 miles in front of me but I won't be able to see it.
