Which is better iPhone or Samsung

I've had both. I used to prefer iphone. I loved my 5SE because it would easily fit any pocket. I absolutely hate my iphone 7. Apple keeps adding bells and whistles while ignoring basic functionally. In all these years the iphone still doesn't have a usable alarm clock. I'm using a fifteen year old Blackberry for that because its alarm clock function is so much better than the iphone's. There are a number of other flaws and ommissions that irritate me but the biggest annoyance is that the iphone can't sort the contents of a checklist Note. What is so hard about sorting alphanumerically? It's like Programming 101 and they haven't done it.
That, coupled with Apple discontinuing the ipod, has caused me to reconsider buying any future Apple product. I don't want much, just simple functions. Apple seems unable to deliver.

Oh, the alarm works fine. Except that it doesn't have a dim, always-on clock face, I have to wake up enough to touch a particular point on the screen where I can just mash keys on the Blackberry, and I can't adjust the snooze time.
I could almost live with that and some other flaws without complaining if only the damn thing could sort. I have a checklist Note of items I buy at my usual market. I thought it would be great to prefix the items with the aisle number in the store. The list would be sorted by aisle number and I could breeze through the store without having to go back for missed items. The sun would shine. Birds would sing. Rainbows would appear from nowhere. If it could sort A,B,C...1,2,3. But nooooo, Apple no can do that.
