Why are people apart of the LGBTQ+ community so discriminated against?
Some people hate them because of religion. But we're not talking about that.
Other people hate them, because, well, they are different. In today's society those who are different are the most vulnerable to hate. People need someone to mock so they will feel better themselves, this can be because of their low self-esteem. It doesnt only relate to LGBT, people with disabilities and mental disorders are often hated too.
You're completely right. It's just saddening to know that perfectly good people are being bullied for their own choices for their own happiness.
[I don’t say that every lgbtq member does that. I’m just saying that there are some exceptions].
I pretty much don’t care about the rest tbh
I believe most of the people that attack to LGBTQ+, disabilited people etc. are children, or people that lacks respect and emphaty.
That's true, its also people with low self esteem.
Interesting discussion. You know my thoughts on this, and I will abide by your rules if I comment here.
I think the main reason for "discrimination" is that (and this is my belief), it goes against the natural order of life and nature. Nature has been designed for male and female to reproduce after their own kind, and to many people this goes against it.
Another reason perhaps is that our society makes such a big deal out of the homozexual community. They get an entire month, social privileges, and are "made much of" for a relatively small group of people, while there are many (relatively) large ideologies that are shunned in public and ridiculed for their beliefs. I think this causes unnecessary friction and leads to more "discrimination" due to unfair bias towards the homozexual community.
And perhaps a third reason is that many members of this community do not endear themselves towards the rest of society, particularly the ones who disagree with them. I believe there are standards that are more or less concrete in our culture, particularly in public, and some (not all) of this community have blatantly disregarded those standards. Behavior such as public displays of your body, shoving rainbows in your face (not a very big exaggeration) and calling everyone who disagrees with them "homophobic" does not lead to a polite response back to you.
These are my thoughts.
Also I have a request to make of you Basix. I will make sure to be respectful and polite to everyone who engages in this thread, would you be so kind as to make it a rule that you cannot call people homophobic in this thread? I don't believe it's an appropriate response to label someone a "homophobe" simply because you disagree with them, and that should make sure that this thread stays fair and polite to all regardless of personal beliefs.
Thank you.

Only if I knew that much English..
Anyways, my stance is that I disagree with the group, but I won’t treat you differently because you’re in it. I’m gonna leave now cuz I don’t wanna join a debate I’ll likely wind up regretting being in
Disagreeing and going out of your way to speak out, bully, or hate on these people are completely different. Silently disagreeing is perfectly fine, actually. I don't agree with those opinions, but I have a lot of respect for people who can disagree with something and not do much.
Overpopulation is more of a long-term issue, but yes. The Earth's population is perfectly fine, and will continue to be.
Thanks for your post! Have a great day!
I think that everyone has their own opinion and no one’s opinion is completely wrong.
