Most of the people who play the computer are beginners, so it makes sense to have many easy levels for them to play, until they are ready to play with real players.
Where did you get the ratings?

Computers don't play like humans. I know; Captain Obvious strikes again, but bear with me here. The way they "dumb themselves down" to your level is by periodically making unforced errors. With rare exception (HIARCS maybe), they just don't know how to play mediocre chess. So no, you can't take much away from beating the computer at lower levels except a certain satisfaction at being able to take advantage of its' errors.

I got the ratings from the app where the ratings are listed

I know that I am not the best player and I know that I am around 1050 rated right now. The level 4 computer (supposed to be rated 1000) stinks. Then I tried level 5 and I won. Then I played level 6 and I managed to draw it. What does this mean? Am I not a 1050 rated player? Or is the computer just bad? All feedback is welcome, thanks
This is my game against the level 5 computer (I stunk)
