Compared to other eras, our time is very peaceful. Actually even though the British undoubtedly murdered many Indians during the time of imperialism. Some of the credit given to Gandhi can be given to the British. After all the protest, the Indians didn’t have to fight the British off Calcutta. As Harari put it, ‘the British replied to the end of imperialism with a great sigh, not a temper tantrum’.
And before someone says I’m biased, I am British Indian. I really should be biased to India.
