If you'd elevate all the dwarf planets to normal planets, that would get really confusing. Planets are supposed to be something huge, not some large rock we will spot next week that's big enough to get rounded.
8 planets – and maybe 9 or 10 one day – is plenty.
Pluto is smaller than 7 moons, not likely to harbor life or particularly unusual geology. It's cold, dim, and incredibly far away, not all that interesting compared to Europa or Titan or Mars, or even Ceres.

That's not how it works. When you apply to be a mode, you should be available for at least the next months, and normally for years. (Of course, if you have a job or studies that prevent you from moderating for months at a time, that can be arranged.)
To apply, fill out the form at https://www.chess.com/forum/view/community/the-chess-community-needs-you. You need:
- Be 18 years or older (actually I'd personally recommend 21+)
- A long history of good contributions in the forums / other chess & chess.com contexts (e.g. the discord or twitch).
- Have a decent Internet connection, enough for video calls. Personally I'd also recommend a large screen (at least 12").
