No, I mean an email client, like Outlook, or Eudora, or in my case Foxmail.
I followed the instructions here:
http://support.chess.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=181
This should be fixed for you now, can you try again please and let me know if its working for you.
Thanks
I'm getting this too. I input my password and username correctly, but it says that it isn't.
And I am getting the same thing from Atmail ...
[edited] PS: attempts to set up Apple Mail client produce complaints about invalid certificate (host name mismatch: www.chess.com instead of autodiscover.chess. com). Not a big thing, but annoying. And then I get a notification about being unable to send the password securely, and then it tells me me that login to mail.chess.com has failed. And then that mail.chess.com is not responding.
Ok can you check again for me please ?
After setting up the incoming mail server (and agreeing to insecure password):
Logging into the POP server "mail.chess.com" failed...
After setting up SMTP:
The SMTP server "mail.chess.com" is not responding...
After trying to connect again after initial setup:
The POP server “mail.chess.com” rejected the password for user “LegoPirateSenior”
Re-entering the password in the resulting dialog did not help.
Can anybody get this to work on a desktop client?
Everything seems fine, but it throws me out on the password all the time.
I have changed my password, no difference.
I use Foxmail, and have no problems with pop3 from gmail, yahoo and my work email.
