few remarks about the site

first of all, as this being my first post in this section, i would just like to say thx to all the guys that have worked so hard to bring up this site to what it is today... you're doing a great job! keep it up :thumbs up:

a few questions if i may:

when playing online chess, quite often i get some sort of server error about it not being able to continue my line in conditional moves...

and another thing, this gets me quite annoyed: when playing live chess i have often gotten the impression that when my opponent has a lagy connection i seem to get the thicker end of it. as time seems to replenish for him, as fast as i play i ALWAYS seem to have less time than my lagy friend. has anyone had such experience? i often play 1 min lightning, thats why every second counts. i have lost a hefty amount of games for these few seconds this way): i know that live chess is still unfinished as a project, but is there a way around this?

thx in advance for the answers. pawn up(:

I am not sure why you would receive an error message with the conditional move line feature. What web browser are you using? You should always make sure you are using the very latest version of which ever web browser you are using.

As for the Live Chess, we are aware of the lag issues and I agree with you that it seems for the non-lagging player is at a slight disadvantage at times. We are currently re-doing the Live Chess in hopes of making it bigger and better. We thank you for your patience in this matter.

np, and thx for your answer (and i'm looking forward to live chess updates!)

the next time this server error turns out in conditional moves i will notify you here as to what it says exactly... i'm using the last firefox version...

this is the error:

System has encountered an unexpected error. Please try again.

i think that this generally means that your opponent has moved and therefore your conditional move tree is either in process or no longer valid. we should change that language :)

could be... there is a text that says make a move before a condition, as a result of trying a cond.move while your opponent has moved already but this is before you made any cond.moves, could be that what you said erik is when you move later in the sequence and you opponent has moved. i'll keep an eye on it...
