You haven't:

  • done many tactics (only 121) or
  • taken many Chess Mentor courses (only 11).
We can't tell how many video lessons you have watched.  What do you like to do here? What have you tried?

So is unlimited tactics/mentors/videos the main premium features?

I like the computer analyzation too. Easy to use and it's on the same platform.

How do you use that?

Find the game you want to analyze > Hit "View" > Menu above the notation there is an option to "Computer Analysis". Click it. Check your inbox in a few mins.

You can do up to 100 games per week.

What are you looking for?

The Chess-TV reviews of live events are pretty cool. Alex Yermolinsky and Alexander Shabalov don't come cheap.

I presume that if gold members get no shows, non-premium members don't either.

Evidently the membership details thing is wrong. This thread, commented on by staff, says that all members can watch chesstv but basic members can't comment. Looking at the current broadcast, even that seems wrong, since basic members are making comments.

I used to be a diamond member, but I switched to platinum because I almost never watched the videos, and I didn't do chess mentor enough to justify the extra $$.

However, I find that the platinum gives me all that I could want and more. I get unlimited tactics, and I can find hundreds of good videos on YouTube for free. Admitedly, many of them are not as good as chess.com's videos, but plenty are awfully good.

One feature here that almost no one talks about, though, is the computer workout under the "Learn" tab. Here you get a huge number of positions to play against the computer and hone your skills. Some are as elementary as K & Q against K, and some are quite advanced rook and pawn endgames. The point is, the side you're given is almost always a win, but getting to it can be extremely difficult. Playing out these positions against the computer, and having the computer show you the best move when you get lost, is just a fantastic learning tool. AND IT'S FREE TO ALL MEMBERS!

For me, platinum is the most bang for MY buck.

I don't know how you guys can live without a daily fix of ChessMentor.  OK I might be almost as addicted as I am to the forums. EmbarassedLaughing

I love the videos. There are a lot of features I have yet to utilize. is there a way to save the computer analysis? I tried writing it down but it was cumbersom. it takes time to play through all the scenarios, it would be nice to be able to save it.

Looks like you can get a PGN of the computer analysis, although I admit I've never done it (and I'm not sure I remember howEmbarassed).

Inaccuracies(?!): 3 = 8.3% of moves | Mistakes(?): 3 = 8.3% of moves | Blunders(??): 0 = 0.0% of moves

Reproduced? which would mean copied.

Do you mean you can't watch some of the videos?

What browser are you using? Can you watch videos from other sites without a problem?

I upgraded from platinum to diamond. It's all about what you want to get out of the chess.com experience. Platinum is no frills, all that you need and nothing more but diamond turns the chess.com site into a digital playground for the chess enthusiast. In addition, I wanted greater access since winter break is here.
