Well, I think just play games. Accept some seeks at the levels you want. You like some people, others not so much. If you enjoy playing with someone, add them to your friend list.

Joining a smaller active group (30-50 members) can be a great way to make friends and join some smaller tournements

Join some groups and play in some vote chess games with them.

Have a look at the tournament list available and pick a tournament or several that you like best, maybe some tournament on your favourite opening.

Maybe create a tournament yourself with the theme and starting position you personally prefer.

Absolutely try tactics trainer, chess mentor, and the video lectures.

And many more things, but this should be enough for a start, I assume :-)
