In the 90's, I bought stamps every week. I was employed. Loved it. I built a collection of about $5000.-6000. But then, I needed a new car. Sold the collection, bought a Saturn. Wasn't playing chess then, but now I use my disability $$ for chess. If I ever hit the lottery, I'll get back into stamps. Give me a little time, I'll join your group.
