Really, what groups you join is a personal question. Some people join groups that have shared interests (non-chess related, certain openings, famous player fan clubs, etc). Some join for a common locale (where you are from, where you live now, or some other criteria). Some are just fun groups, some play team matches, some study .... the list is pretty much endless.
Your best bet is to take a look around, find something that interests you and that has recent activity.
Hi I am a relatively new (premium) member. Maybe this is not the appropriate forum section for this question but I am assuming premium members might know this site best and would be able to give the best answer. I have been playing 24/7 (lol) live and online chess but I have not really looked into groups and teams. I have now received a few teams invitations and was wondering whether someone could explain to me how teams and groups work. How to chose the best groups to join and how do groups work and what function and roles do the offer. Thank you very much
