Given that this book is widely available, why not compensate the author for his work in making it available?  Sure you may be able to get it for free, however if you can go to the local bookstore and get it for around 20 bucks, why not do so to ethically support people who work hard to put out great material?  By paying for materials such as these everyone wins.  You as the person reading from the book benefit and the author/publisher benefit because they can stay in business.
